Paris EUROPLACE gathers and expresses positions of market players as it seeks to strengthen the attractiveness of the Paris financial marketplace, establish constructive relations with European Institutions in a global financial context, stimulate research and financial innovation, and promote these objectives internationally.

Bruno BENSASSON

CEO, ENGIE AFRICA

Born in Paris in 1972, Bruno Bensasson is an engineer graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines de Paris. He started his professional career in 1998 within the Regional Directorate for Industry, Research and the Environ-ment of région Lower Normandy, working as Head of nuclear installations depart-ment. He pursued his career in the French Nuclear Safety Authority from 2002 to 2004, working as the Director of the Office of the Director-General. He then worked as Technical Advisor in charge of environment, new ener-gies and nuclear for the Minister for industry, from 2004 to 2006. He was after-wards appointed as Technical Advisor in charge of industry, environment and transport until may 2007 for the French President, Jacques Chirac. He joined SUEZ Strategic Division in 2007 before being appointed as Eco-nomic Chief Analyst at GDF SUEZ’s Strategy and Sustainable Development Depart-ment in July 2008. In 2011, he became member of GDF SUEZ Executive Committee and Senior Vice President in charge of Strategy and Sustainable Development. He was appointed CEO of GDF SUEZ Energie France in the beginning of 2013 before becoming, in July 2014 GDF SUEZ Energie Europe Executive Vice President in charge of Renewable Energies and President Energy France, in April 2015, BU AFRICA Project Leader and since January 2016, Chief Executive Officer BU Africa.
